Our Year-Round Team

Many of you have known us for decades, but our team has grown over the past few years, so we thought it was time to reintroduce ourselves. 

Adam & Julie Walton – Camp Owners:  Adam and Julie met at camp and were married in 1991. Both are former school teachers and have continued mentoring youth beyond camp. Adam spends his off-season coaching high school basketball and Julie is a CASA for local foster youth. Julie’s passion for photography keeps her busy and Adam enjoys playing disc golf, snowboarding, and hiking.

Jared & Erica Stein – Camp Owners:  Jared and Erica met at camp in the 90’s. Their three children, Abby, Charlie, and Greta grew up at camp, and both Abby and Charlie have worked at camp in recent summers. Erica is a registered nurse and brings immense expertise to our camp Health Center. Jared has a variety of site management skills including ropes course, waterfront and facility maintenance that keep camp running smoothly year round. When not at camp, both Jared and Erica love to travel and see live music with their friends and family.

Paul Dolfini – Director:  Paul lives in Los Osos, California with his wife, Riley, and their son, Quincy. Riley grew up in camp and Paul joined her for his first summer as a Cook in 2014. Since then, he has held a long list of jobs in camp: from kitchen staff to site work, and OAP Director to Camp Director. His list of hobbies is also extensive and includes surfing, rock climbing, guitar, engraving, and crocheting. He even heads up Big Mable and the Portholes, a sea shanty band, which includes many WGL alumni.

Ella Walton – Director:  Ella lives in Truckee with her fiance and WGL Kitchen Manager, Tony. Their dog Clover is excited to announce that Ella and Tony got engaged last month. Clover threw them an engagement party at the beach to celebrate. Ella grew up in camp and has held several positions, including Dishwasher, Cook, Counselor, C.I.L.T. Director, Special Assistant, Assistant Director, and now Camp Director. During the winter, you may see her working or skiing at Sugar Bowl Resort.

Mara McDonough – Assistant Director:  Mara lives in Portland, Maine, where she grew up, and spends her summers out west with us each year. Mara met Ella while playing ultimate frisbee at Colby College, which led to her first summer at Walton’s in 2018. Mara works closely with our health staff each summer and has brought her youth circus experience to camp to start the circus activity. She has a passion for the environment and when she’s not busy at camp, she is pursuing a Master’s in climate change and coastal resilience. She loves to hike, read, knit, and road trip!

Brandon Kuligowski – Assistant Director:  Brandon lives in Olympia, Washington, and brings an extensive background in outdoor education. This past summer, he used his expertise to introduce our new Wilderness Program at WGL. Brandon started out at Walton’s as a Counselor in 2018, and has previously been our Special Events and Program Director. Brandon and Paul share a love of escape rooms and redesign the camp escape room together each year. Brandon loves spending lots of time outside, whether trail running, camping, hiking, or playing disc golf!

Georgia Walton – Assistant Director:  Georgia lives in Grass Valley with her fiance, Myles, who also works in camp. Georgia grew up in camp and has worn many hats: Cook, Counselor, C.I.L.T. Director, and Special Assistant. She recently earned her Master’s in Social Work. Georgia supports our campers and parents to provide the best camp experience possible; many of you have likely chatted with her by phone. When she’s not at camp, Georgia enjoys outdoor recreation and time with her cat.
