With the current drought in California, you may be wondering about the impact on camp life. Walton’s is located on a 14 acre private lake fed by Big Grizzly Creek and dammed to allow for water storage. We have been assured by local water authorities that our lake level will not be affected by water restrictions this summer. Our lawns and landscaping are irrigated using only water from our lake allowing them to be green throughout the season.
Drinking water at camp comes from our two private wells. This summer we will continue to do our part to conserve the precious water resources we use. Campers will notice signs in the bathrooms and showers encouraging “Shorter Showers Save Water” and “Stop the Gush When You Brush.” Additionally we will be working hard to reduce our water consumption throughout camp. We are proud to do our part and to encourage our campers to do the same!
