Summer 2026

Walton’s Grizzly Lodge  welcomed over 1,100 campers from all across California and the country for a very special summer celebrating 100 years. We are honored to continue building a legacy that provides a place to explore, grow, and connect with each other. 

This summer included a new Wilderness Program. Campers earned a star gazing night by completing activities that focus on outdoor skills like fire making, outdoor cooking, and shelter building. The program was a huge hit and we are already planning an expansion for 2027. 

Other new activity additions include jewelry making and textile arts. Campers made beautiful beaded jewelry, pendant necklaces, and embroidery projects.

Our staff focused on their creative skills too. Crafts Director, India organized and hosted the Grizzly Gala, an art exhibit of projects made by our staff throughout the summer. Entries included ceramics, linoleum stamps, photographs, woodworking  and mixed media projects. Paul Dolfini won Best in Show with his engraved fiddle. 

It’s always hard to say goodbye at the end of a wonderful summer, but we know the memories and friendships we made will stay with us until we meet again.
