Applicants must be at least 18 and have completed a minimum of one year of college.

To be considered for employment for the summer of 2018 applicants must be available to work our full season, June 13 through August 25.

Those who live outside of our interviewing area will be required to submit a video interview if, after reviewing your initial application, we wish to proceed further.

All application materials must be returned in a timely manner to be considered for employment.

We do not plan on hiring international staff.

Please do not have parents, relatives or friends request or check on the status of an application.

First year counselor salary for the summer of 2018 is $450/week. Room, board and laundry is also included.

We look for individuals who want to spend their summer working with children in a structured outdoor setting.

Hi, I’m Nicole. This is my 14th year at camp, and you should be a counselor because you get to work in this beautiful place with the best people ever.

I am from Sacramento, California. I just want to say it’s the best place to work because there are so many people here who get to me, and the activities are great — you get to lead, and you get to change a kid’s life. It’s awesome.

My favorite thing about camp is probably the traditions. Walton’s really makes you feel part of the history here, part of the camp. This is my first year, and I’m absolutely loving it.

What made you want to come to Walton’s Grizzly Lodge?

The camp is beautiful. I definitely wanted to be outside the whole summer and work with all the amazing children who come to camp.

My name is Mark, and I’m from Reno, Nevada. This is my 15th summer at Walton’s, and this is pretty much the greatest place to work in the world. I’m convinced — amazing people, beautiful environment, and just one of the funniest jobs I can imagine.

This is my third year at Walton’s. Camp is just a really great place because it really is the one place you can be yourself and discover who you are. You can learn a bunch of new things about yourself — the counselors and campers, it goes both ways — and there’s a really great community that we have here.
