The purpose of the Outdoor Adventure Program (OAP) is to extend the Walton’s Grizzly Lodge Summer Camp experience by providing campers the opportunity to connect with their natural environment, deepen friendships and build new skills in the wilderness.
The Outdoor Adventure Program is a one-week backpacking program for 12-17 year old campers. Enrollment is limited to 15 campers who show leadership potential and are ready to handle the rigors of this adventurous week in the outdoors.
The program consists of spending two days in camp and six days camping, hiking and backpacking. Leadership, Adventure and Environmental Stewardship will be emphasized. Highlights include team building activities upon arrival at Walton’s, an in-depth exploration of the Lakes Basin area, backpacking on the Pacific Crest Trail, hiking various peaks and returning to Walton’s where participants will have camp to themselves for a day.
If your child is interested in this program, they may apply online. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about this opportunity.
