Celebrating 100 Summers!
While there are still a few more weeks of summer, August 16th marked the end of our 100th camp season!. We are feeling grateful, fulfilled, and a bit nostalgic. Our phenomenal staff and amazing camp families made 2025 one of the best summers yet!
We welcomed over a thousand campers and created countless memories. Here are a few of our favorites:
- The first ever 4th of July Festival was held during Session 3, and it was a hit! This all-morning event included a tug of war, relay races, a dunk tank, and lots of camp spirit! This new tradition is something we can look forward to each year.
- Campers, CILTs, and staff teams worked together to solve Bootstraps McClintock’s puzzles in our escape room. Paul and Brandon designed and built the escape room and have plans for next summer’s challenge.
- We held raffles throughout the summer. Camper groups won “1926” WGL merch including stickers, backpacks, wristbands and a crowd favorite, WGL rubber ducks!
- Staff completed the 1926 WGL Running Challenge, created and organized by two of our counselors, Natalie and Miranda. Our staff collectively ran over 1926 miles this summer to commemorate 100 years of summer camp!
Summer 2025 was so much fun, we plan to continue the celebration right on into Summer 2026!
