“Who’s your Buddy?!”

Seven weeks from today we will find out. On the second Wednesday of session three campers and staff members will particpate in one of the oldest and longest running Special Events at Walton’s Grizzly Lodge, Buddy Day. Campers and staff members enjoy dressing like their Buddy and spending extra time together on this special camp day focused on fun and friendship with a touch of silliness. Buddy Day at camp dates back to the 1950’s. Joe Stein created the event and generations of Walton’s campers have enjoyed participating in it over the past 60 plus summers.

While everyone at camp enjoys Buddy Day, the actual Special Event is for our younger groups of campers known as the C’ Division. After selecting their Buddy for the day these groups enjoy competing at our Club Area in classic events such as the Three Legged Race, Gunny Sack Hop, Leap Frog Relay and Water Balloon Toss. Good times, big smiles and friedly competition amongst the Buddies is encouraged as they enjoy a morning in the summer sun under the guidance of our Special Events Director and their group counselors.

“Buddy!”
