Camper In Leadership Training Program

C.I.L.T. Requirements & Application Process

Our regular program is for 7 – 15 year old campers. If your child attended Walton’s Grizzly Lodge last summer, turns 16 by July 15th and will have completed the 10th grade, they may be invited to apply for our CILT Program (Camper in Leadership Training). An email with information about how to apply is sent in August.

If we have openings, we may extend invitations to selected 15 year old enrolled campers who we believe are ready to join the CILT program early.

The CILT Program is a two-year program. First Year CILTs must turn 16 years old by July 15th and have completed the 10th grade. Second Year CILTs must have completed the first-year CILT Program. CILTs receive a 10% tuition discount. Special privileges are given to CILTs including first choice of activities, time at the Staff House and a special CILT Day Out.

This is a Select Program and availability is very limited. There are a maximum of 10 CILTs per session (5 male / 5 female).

There is no guarantee of placement in this program. Campers must receive a letter of invitation before applying.

Assistant Counselor & Counselor Requirements

Many campers who complete the CILT program go on to become an Assistant Counselor or Counselor at Walton’s Grizzly Lodge.

Assistant Counselors Requirements
– 18 or older by July 15th
– Completed CILT Program
– High School Graduate
– Available to work for at least two sessions

Counselors Requirements
– Turn 18 by June 1st
– Complete a year of college and/or post high school work
– Be available to work the entire summer season

We begin accepting Assistant Counselor and counselors applications on January 1st.
