Out of Camp Trips

Camping and Backpacking

During our two week sessions campers have the opportunity to go on an out of camp trip in the Plumas National Forest with their group. Depending on the age of the camper, the campout may be as close as across our lake, or far enough in the wilderness that campers backpack there. With trained staff to supervise, campers experience the outdoors up close. For many campers our out of camp trips open up a whole new world.

All Day Hikes

The Sierra Buttes, Mount Elwell and Eureka Peak are three peaks that campers have the opportunity to hike during our two week sessions. After a short drive, campers hike several miles to the top of a peak. When they reach the top campers eat lunch and take in the view. On some hikes, snow can be found at the summits year round. Our younger campers may choose to hike to a nearby peak with a 360 degree view known as The Bald Spot during our two week sessions.

We believe our Out of Camp trips offer some of our finest adventures. Some of our trips are backpacks and others we drive to. Each camper as the opportunity to go on a trip during our two week sessions. Out of Camp trips allow for a change of pace and some new and exciting experiences. Many of our older campers enjoy the challenge of jumping off the rocks into the water. Wherever we go, the trips are always memorable and the scenery is breathtaking.
